The Nevada Association of IB World Schools (NAIBWS) Student Board consists of students from across IB schools in Nevada who come together to help brainstorm and lead the yearly IB Student Leadership Conference. Through collaboration and communication between schools, the event has expanded to include all grade levels and mix leadership activities with informative workshops to help students as they progress through the program.
Despite the COVID-19 pandemic, the yearly conference will still be held virtually on March 20, 2021. Until then, this resource will be used to support students statewide by providing announcements, access to documents, and other information to be updated on a regular basis. We hope you will find this useful!

Meet the board!
My name is Bobby Degeratu. I am a senior at Valley HS and the creator of this student-centered platform. It is an honor to serve on the student board for my third year and take part in my school's IB Council for my fourth year. IB has been a part of my life since the fourth grade, so I hope to leave behind an important legacy for future NAIBWS board members to carry forward.

My name is Sandy Basambekyan, and it is truly an honor to be one of the representatives for the IB Board for Nevada. I have always been passionate about academics, extracurriculars, and anything related to my education. I am part of Key Club, DECA, and I am the MYP Vice President for Spring Valley's IB council. I always strive to achieve academically and I am always determined to reach my goals. There is nothing more emotionally rewarding than achieving a goal and being proud of who you are, especially regarding leadership. I know this year is kind of crazy, but I wish everyone the best of luck and I hope that all IB students throughout Nevada can support each other to make the best out of a difficult situation.
